Brahma Sri Ramakrishna Iyer of Sri Sringeri Saradha Temple in Kripa Shankari street, West Mambalam, Chennai took responsibility for conducting smoothly the all the puja related arrangements.

The pujas started on the morning of 11th July with Ganpathi homam etc. In the evening an impressive procession with holy waters placed on a majestic white horse and an elephant started from Ninaithathai Mudiththa Vinayagar temple near the old bus stand and went around important streets of Kalakad finally reaching the Yagasalai.

The first kala pujas continued in the evening and night of 11th. On 12th morning and evening second and third kala pujas very performed. On 13th morning and evening fourth and fifth kalaka pujas were performed. All the pujas were well attended by people from Kalakad as well as many places outside of Kalakad. Many had come back from far away cities like Mumbai etc to witness these pujas.

On the grand day 14th, 6th kala pujas started early in the morning. Holy waters from around the country which was in the puja for all the 6 kala pujas were taken in a procession around the temple and were atop ALL THE GOPURAMS BY AROUND 8 AM.

Exactly at 8.30am the function started and by 8.35 am. The Kumbabishekam was started to the delight of 1000s and 1000s of people gathered all around the temple, temple roof structure, inside the temple, on the roads around and on top of buildings around!

Then abishekams were performed to all the deities. The crowd was so huge that many people could not enter the sannidhis! However slowly order returned and in an orderly manner people queued and had dahshan of Lord Sathiawageeswara and Gomathi amabl, besides Navaneetha Krishnan, Lord Subramniar etc

It took nearly more than 2 hours for the crowd to melt away.

It was a different happy story altogether at the specially formed food section where people were fed on all the four days continuously.

On the Kumbabishekam day it was a grand feast to all.

In the evening “Thirukalyanam” was performed for Lord Sathyawageeswara and Gomathy ambal.

The event concluded with a grand procession of Pancha Murthys

(Vinayagar, Subramaniar, Sway and Ambal, navanetha Krishnan and natarajar or Sababathy, through the ratha veedhis of Kalakad).

The added specially was inclusion of Marajah veeramarthanadah in the processions and also 63 Nayanmars fro the first time.

Probably this is the only time this function has been conducted outside Mylapore where 63 Nayanmars function is a great event every year.

And all this was made possible by the young team members of Bakthar peravai at Kalakad, toiling for many days and nights continuously. Everyone present, recognised this fact openly.

It total, all these four days turned out to be unforgettable for all those who witnessed either in person or in mind, sitting in far away locations. Press also gave a wide coverage.
