Chennai Meet
The second meet at Chennai took place on 29th June with participants number almost equal only to the first meet. Though as organizers we are disappointed, we are sure Mumbai meet will more than make up for it.
Information such as free advertisements for all Kalakad persons in this site’s home page, necessity to log on to yahoo pages instead of just seeing the group mails alone, mobilisation of funds were all discussed:
In addition it was accepted in principle to analyse feasibility of conducting a musical programme by Shankar Mahadevan in Chennai to raise funds.”
Chennai second meet: On 29th June it was held as planned. The attendance was similar to the first meet. Though no fresh commitments were received, we received a proposal to conduct a musical evening by singer Shankar Mahadevan. Details of the same are being studied by a committee to evaluate its feasibility, keeping in mind our purpose.
Sringeri visit: A team of 4 members including Mrs. Bhuvaneswari Ramanarayana Bhagavathar and his son-mirithangist, Kalakad Srinivasan went to Sringeri to seek the blessings of Sringeri Acharyal. He not only blessed in as many words the efforts but made a donation of Rs.50000.00 which is more than its money value for us. A photograph taken on the occasion is displayed above.
Mumbai meet: It was organized on 6th of July in Jondhale High School, First Floor, A/C Hall, Behind South Indian School, Dombivli (West), near Railway station. The energy of the organizers was unbelievable. It was a well attended meeting. South street (Therku theru) topped with more representatives than any other street of Kalakad! It was also very interesting to see many close friends meet after a very long time. Some of the photographs are displayed above.
