They performed puja to Sri Sasta also situated enroute in the hills.

They took a small lorry loaded with puja items, tiffin and lunch for the day. By the side of the first water stream that they spotted, they enjoyed their morning tiffin.

Then proceeding further, the sharp eyes of Mr. Sankara subramanian alias Chanka easily located Lord Sastha's abode as it is hidden in the middle of bushes. Along with Sastha, Lord Ganapathy, Sapta kannigais and a lot of animal statues are also located there.

Then further going up they reached the forest guest house. From there trekking for a short distance, they reached the spot where Devi temple is situated. They were delighted to walk over a sort of brick structure constructed during the British rule that ensures Kalakad getting atleast some water which otherwise will reach Manimuthar.

They all had bath in the stream there. Sarkkarai pongal alone was cooked freshly as Neivedyam to Goddesses. Grand abishekam was performed with all the team member's active participation of fetching water from the steam. Decoration with flowers by the expert pujaris was wonderful. Grand puja were performed with Mantra recitations for a long time. Moon came out to witness the puja at as early as 2.30 pm itself in the afternoon.

We are sure of Devi blessing all of us soon with rains. It is understood that during earlier times as soon as the puja is performed it used to shower immediately.

Everyone’s mind there was filled with peace and happiness. They returned back to the gust house and took the lorry back to Kalakad.

Wonderful coordination of various things required for the puja, trip etc were done by Chanka and party. All Kalakadars must thank them who toiled for days together to make it a reality:. Thanks also to the forest officials, workers as well the engineer who helped get the required permission for the visit.
